Family, Community, and Sales: A Father-Son Duo Strengthening Local Connections

In Greensburg, PA, a unique bond is growing stronger not just at home, but in the workplace. David and his son Zachary, Harrison City, PA natives, are both part of our sales team, bringing a personal touch and deep-rooted connection to the communities they serve. For David, working alongside his son is something he never imagined, but now deeply values. “It’s a little strange just because I never thought it would happen,” he admits. “But it’s awesome to have the opportunity to see my son almost every day and bounce ideas back and forth.” Zachary echoes that sentiment, sharing that their time together has helped them grow professionally while supporting one another in finding the best solutions for customers. With David’s years of experience and Zachary’s fresh perspective, the two complement each other well—offering customers thoughtful, personalized service built on trust and collaboration.

Their strong sense of community is shaped by more than just their work. As lifelong residents of the area, both David and Zachary take pride in being part of a locally owned company that values its customers and goes the extra mile. “Being a locally owned company and growing relationships with businesses and people that create a flourishing environment for Westmoreland County is very fulfilling and has purpose beyond just what we do as a business,” Zachary explains. Their ties to the region run deep. David has owned a business in Jeannette for over 20 years, and both are members of the Jeannette Italian Club. Zachary, a graduate of Penn-Trafford School District and lifelong athlete, has built lasting connections throughout Westmoreland County. Whether it’s sharing laughs at the Miracle Mile bowling league in the winter or supporting local organizations, this father-son team brings heart, experience, and community spirit to everything they do—making a meaningful impact both in and out of the office.

Our Team Makes the Difference

Shawn Madden

Shawn Madden, Vice President of Sales in Pittsburgh, has been with Doing Better Business since 1996. Over the years, he has played a key role in the company’s growth, now managing seven Business Relationship Managers and overseeing several sales territories, including Greensburg. With nearly three decades of experience, Shawn leads with a people-first mindset. “As a sales manager, I work for them,” he says of his team. “They tell me what they need me to do 90% of the time—I only tell them what to do about 10% of the time.”

Shawn’s journey to Doing Better Business is unique. When his former company was preparing for sale, he stepped in to help identify the right new ownership. What drew him to Doing Better Business was the family-oriented culture and strong leadership values. “That family orientation and philosophy assured me that the Dellapostas were the right family to carry things forward,” he says. The Dellaposta family’s commitment to people, relationships, and doing business the right way made a lasting impression.

With decades of experience in the office technology industry, Shawn has seen plenty of change—but he believes paper is here to stay. “I first heard about the ‘paperless office’ six weeks into my career back in 1988,” he recalls. “And yet, printers and copiers are still used by just about every organization today.” While the industry has evolved, Shawn notes the most significant shift is in how businesses use these devices. “I don’t see paper going away,” he says. “But the biggest change is that multifunction devices are now used more as input tools—(scanning to email, the cloud, or document management systems)—rather than strictly as output devices for printing.”

Service Technicians Are Critical to Our Success

Our work doesn’t end when a sale is made. At Doing Better Business, our service team is the backbone of ongoing customer success—bringing reliability, experience, and care to every interaction.

Matt Young and Rick Keltz, (two of our nearly forty dedicated service technicians) who are based out of our Greensburg office, bring both skill and heart to the job every day. Matt, an Export, PA, native, has been with us since 1993 and continues to be a cornerstone of our service team.

As CEO Debra Dellaposta shares, “Matt exemplifies our core values every day. A true team player, he continually seeks new learning opportunities to deliver exceptional customer service. Not only did he earn certifications to train fellow technicians on HP and Sharp equipment, but he also recently accepted the role of Service Supervisor. His dedication and leadership inspire everyone around him to raise the bar”.

Rick Keltz

We sat down with Rick, a native of Latrobe, PA, for an interview. Rick says what sets Doing Better Business apart from other places he’s worked is the trust and support he receives. “I have the freedom to do the job the way I see fit,” he shares. Rick who has been part of the DBB Family since 1997, feels he is trusted to use his own judgment and experience—and says “I always have access to the tools and support I need to get the job done right. Whether it’s a part or a helping hand, everything is just a phone call away.” What stands out most to Rick is the way he’s treated. “You’re treated like you truly matter here,” he says. “And you can always communicate directly with ownership. That makes a big difference—it feels like a family.”

Rick’s commitment to the community extends beyond the workplace. He’s actively involved in several local fireman’s clubs, including one in Youngstown, PA. He’s also a proud member of both St. Joseph’s and St. Anthony’s churches, staying connected to his roots and giving back to the community that has shaped him. Rick’s dedication—both on and off the job—reflects the values that Doing Better Business proudly stands behind.

Alongside Matt and Rick on our outstanding service team there are three other talented and hardworking technicians: Ricci Jones, Ryan Metzger, and Pat Bacha.

Ricci, who has been with Doing Better Business for 11 years, brings dedication and consistency to every job he takes on. He proudly calls Grapeville, PA, home and is known for his reliability and positive attitude. Ryan Metzger, a valued member of our team for 21 years, is a Scottdale, PA native whose deep technical knowledge and steady presence make him an essential part of our success. With an impressive 26 years of service, Pat Bacha—who resides in Home, PA—continues to set the standard for excellence through his experience, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to our customers. Together, this team exemplifies what it means to deliver top-tier service with heart, skill, and integrity.

With an average tenure of 20 years, our technical team brings deep expertise and efficiency to every repair—getting you back up and running faster. That level of longevity also speaks volumes about our supportive culture and commitment to employee satisfaction.

More Than a Business - A Commitment to Community

As a company, we take great pride in being truly local. We remain the only office equipment and technology solutions provider in Westmoreland County—with the largest team of locally based employees. Our commitment to our community, our people, and our customers sets us apart. That dedication was a key reason behind our acquisition of TSI from Gene and Lori, longtime Latrobe residents and respected business owners. Gene chose to stay with us for seven years after the acquisition, a testament to the culture, core values, and customer-first mindset we continue to uphold. For us, being local isn’t just a label—it’s who we are, and it drives us to continue helping you Do Better Business.
