Dellaposta named Top 100 People in 2016
Debra Dellaposta is the president and CEO of WPS Office Solutions and Doing Better Business, Inc., two local family-owned and operated technology businesses.
This year, Dellaposta and her two siblings will be acquiring WPS and merging it into Doing Better Business, Inc., which they formed to acquire two companies in Pittsburgh and Latrobe. Outside of WPS, Dellaposta serves on the National Dealer Councils for Ricoh Corporation and for Great America Financial Corporation and is a regular contributor for Channelnomics and ENX Magazine.
Dellaposta continues to mentor students locally, two at Penn State Altoona and one at University Park, and believes that there is great potential in our regional educational institutions that can be tapped into with new business creation.
“We are making investments in Penn State Altoona, Bishop Guilfoyle High School and young entrepreneurs like Catalyst Space by donating 3D printers and interactive whiteboards. These advanced technology devices in learning and creative environments will generate innovative new business ideas,” she said.
She is currently the chairperson of the business advisory board for Penn State Altoona’s ENACTUS student group and is active in the Blair Chamber of Commerce.
Dellaposta served as assistant governor for Rotary District 7360 and as president of the Rotary Club of Altoona in 2005. She is currently the District Chairperson for Inbound Student Exchange.
Dellaposta notes that her greatest mistakes have been in keeping a wrong hire for too long.
“I have learned that while firing someone is unpleasant, keeping someone too long can turn into a cancer that destroys the morale of all your great employees,” she said.
